Caramel Crumble Apple Gallette

Do yourself a favor, stop everything you’re doing and make this now! I’m telling you this is way easier than making a pie and OH SO DELICIOUS!

Easy crust for beginners

Best caramel sauce

Simple filling

Melt in your mouth crumble

Top with ice cream and you’ve entered heaven.

Okay, Okay I’m not even going to waste your time any more JUST GO DO IT. Haha

Start oven at 375


Single Pie crust

1 1/2 c flour

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 c shortening (cold)

1/4 c butter (cold)

1/3 c ice water


In a food processor pulse all ingredients EXCEPT water


Once crumbled in texture slowly add the ice water and pulse until it starts to stick together and form a ball


Gently knead until it holds together


In a lightly floured surface Roll the dough into a thin circle


About thirteen inches in diameter


Transfer gently to a flat pan or pizza pan


Keep cool



Apple filling

2-3 apples

2 tblsp sugar

1 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp pumpkin seasoning if you have it

2 tsp flour


Thinly slice two-3 large apples

I like to mix types of apples but any will do


In a bowl mix all filling ingredients and spoon onto the crust


Fold the crust slightly over the edge of apple


paint edge of crust with egg wash and sprinkle with sugar


Bake for 30 min and begin making your topping


Add crumble topping and bake another 15 minutes


About 45 total or until golden brown make sure apples are tender could need longer



Crumble topping

1/2 C flour

1/4 c brown sugar

1/4 c chopped pecans

1/2 c oats

1/2 cube butter

1 tblsp Cinnamon


Pulse all ingredients together in a food processor or mix thoroughly with a fork.



Salted Caramel Sauce


1c sugar

1/4 c cold water

2 tblsp unsalted Butter

1 tsp or more to taste of kosher Salt

1/2c Heavy cream room temp or warmed


Melt sugar and water over medium heat, stirring as it melts until amber in color. About 10 minutes


Add the cream slowly and stir into the Amber sugar incorporate until smooth. Usually 2-4 minutes


Whisk in butter and allow to cool


Enjoy!
